The Data Cities project in Jinja City and Fort Portal Tourism City highlighted the importance of data in sustainable urban development. Stakeholders emphasize its role in revenue mobilization, environmental conservation, tourism development, and technical skills enhancement. Progress was made in internet accessibility and data capture tools, but challenges remain in data infrastructure, technical skills, and stakeholder engagement. Strategic interventions and investments are needed for inclusive, green, and smart city development.
