Jinja City Statistical Planning Workshop
The Jinja City Statistical Planning Workshop, held on 16–17 September 2025, brought together city officials, the DataCities Consortium, and development partners to co-create a five-year Statistical Strategic Plan (2025–2030). The workshop aimed to strengthen Jinja City’s statistical systems and promote evidence-based decision-making.
Through interactive sessions, participants analyzed the city’s current data landscape, identified key challenges such as fragmented systems and limited ICT capacity, and agreed on strategic priorities, including establishing a centralized city database, building statistical capacity, and improving data governance. The workshop's outcomes laid the foundation for a coordinated and data-driven approach to urban development in Jinja City.
